In order to be successful in today's highly competitive market, communications service providers (CSPs) must constantly make strides toward improving their own operational efficiency and delivering unrivaled quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) to their customers. Providing network and application performance visibility has become an integral part of this process, helping CSPs not only prevent churn, but also attract new customers and drive revenue growth.

Earlier today, we announced that Infovista has helped Cyta, the leading CSP in Cyprus, improve its IP and Carrier Ethernet performance management capabilities. The partnership between Infovista and Cyta started almost five years ago, but we're proud to say that neither organization is resting on its laurels.

Over the years, VistaInsight for Networks has enabled Cyta to offer sophisticated service-level reporting tailored specifically to its customers' needs, monitor current and future resource usage, and put in place an early warning system to prevent performance degradation.

Now, Cyta has gone a step further with Infovista's 5View NetFlow and 5View Service Data Manager (SDM), significantly improving its troubleshooting capabilities through enhanced insight into application performance. Armed with these solutions, Cyta can better understand how applications are traversing the network allowing for the delivery of high-value Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPN services in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs). The combination of Infovista's 5View NetFlow, 5View SDM and VistaInsight for Networks has also enabled Cyta to improve QoS and QoE for its subscribers, prevent costly outages, reign in CAPEX through the use of the most up-to-date network intelligence, and secure its position as the leading CSP in Cyprus for a long time to come.

The keys to preventing churn and attracting new customers – as illustrated by Cyta in recent years – are operational efficiency, proactive troubleshooting of potential performance degradation before it causes problems for end users, and delivering on the terms specified in SLAs. These are the areas in which Infovista has and will continue to lead the pack, helping CSPs strengthen their networks and service offerings.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks for results of our CSP research on the value of performance assurance and customer reporting for carrier Ethernet services.
