“Bandwidth-on-demand,” the ability to increase and decrease bandwidth as needed, is growing in popularity because it allows operators and their customers to re-allocate bandwidth to best suit individual business needs. Because medium-sized businesses now require high-speed and high-quality data services due to the expansion of connectivity requirements, Carrier Ethernet service providers are expanding their customer base to incorporate both large- and medium-sized businesses. As a result, this market is likely to see a 15 percent revenue growth rate over the next several years as more and more businesses seek out the benefits of the technology.
Fierce Mobile IT:Mobile Network Backhaul Equipment Market to Reach $6.71 Billion Next Year – November 12th
As more operators work to address the increase of data traffic, the mobile industry is going to see a rise in the global mobile network backhaul equipment market. This market will be supplemented by the use of optical fiber cables, wavelength selective switches and tighter channel spacing, all of which address the most common challenges resulting from heavy data traffic.
What are your thoughts on these articles? Do you agree that more medium-sized businesses will switch to Carrier Ethernet services in 2013? Is the LTE roll-out in Africa legitimate or just a way to attract customers? We’re looking forward to your feedback!
