Ranga ThittaiPrivate Access Point Name (APN) connections enable mobile operators to offer private and secure mobile access to enterprises that typically seek to automate their mobile work force. For mobile service providers, this usually implies configuring specific addressing and routing schemes on top of their existing mobile data network. But for enterprise itself, such private mobile access becomes a “business spinal cord,” (Can you imagine what it would mean for FedEx or UPS delivery people to NOT carry their mobile bar code “scan and register” devices ?)

With these Private APNs being mission critical to enterprises, Mobile Service Providers are thus expected to maintain impeccable standards of availability and quality for such connections. Even very short down times can directly impact the enterprise business/revenue and could put the Mobile Service Provider’s business relationship (with the corresponding enterprise) at risk.

So how should Mobile Operators protect such high value accounts? How should they build the trust with these high value customers and maintain the edge over competition?

Read here how InfoVista’s Mobile Knowledge Pack allows Mobile Service Providers to provide near real-time Customer Reporting for Private APN Connections.
